Summary:
Acheron finds himself in a strange world where he has to endure things like giant boxes on wheels and strange buildings that look like giant faces. He at last finds himself at a place covered with children and runs, unwittingly, to join them.

    "Having lived a sheltered life, Acheron finds the chance to get out into the real world too good to pass up. He's extremely loyal, and will do anything for people he cares about. He has a tendancy to trust anyone, even criminals, unless given a reason not to."
• Lei'ella - A thief-catcher from the world of Inverloch.
  • Description by Sarah:
    "Lei'ella is a member of Strathwood's City Watch, thief-catcher unit. She believes that finding Kayn'dar will be of great benefit to her, although she does not provide a reason why. She presents a tough exterior, but is often betrayed by her strong emotions."
• Varden - a thief from the world of Inverloch.
  • Description by Sarah:
    "Varden is a professional thief, stealing for others more often than for himself. He claims to be following Acheron due to a somewhat dubious 'thieves code', but his real motivations are anyone's guess. He's fairly relaxed, confident and laid-back, but fast and dangerous if the situation calls for it."
• Neirenn - a mage in training from the world of Inverloch.
  • Description by Sarah:
    "Neirenn is a mage with more magic power than has been seen in humans for many years. She desires more than anything to learn as much as possible, and feels the Academy is intentionally holding her back. She's friendly and talkative around people she likes, but tends to get quiet and sulky around adults, especially if they don't let her do what she wants."
