In the Hands of Fate
I sit here staring out my window,
As the day dissolves into night.
I’m not sure what exactly I’m waiting for,
But I’ve been waiting for a long time.
In the world outside the sky is blue and the grass is green,
But here in my own little world, everything is gray and unclear.
As confusion, heartache, and mixed emotions haunt my mind.
Will the sun never shine?
Will the darkness never fade?
I can’t stand the pain any longer,
It’s getting too strong to overcome.
All these tears that I’ve shed,
Have left permanent marks inside of my heart,
And are just reminders of happier times.
I wish it wasn’t over,
And I wish you were still here.
My life was forever changed because of you,
And what you meant to me.
I want love to find it’s way back to me again,
And when it does, I hope it stays.
Sometimes, I wish I knew what the future held,
And what will happen in the end.
But if I could see the future,
Then life wouldn’t be the adventure it’s supposed to be.
So I’m leaving this,
In the hands of fate.
Life
We want our lives to go our way,
But we only have control over certain things.
We can suffer a break-up,
The loss of someone we loved deeply,
Or anything else that send us into a state of depression and emptiness.
Where our once joyful souls are filled with sorrow and despair.
Sometimes it’s too much for a person to bear,
When we sense a feeling of emptiness and loneliness in our hearts.
That is what gets people thinking their lives are over,
Because of that one incident.
We go in search of answers,
Answers that will help us overcome our feelings,
What is the answer most people find?
A dreadful thing called suicide.
We wonder why these people made this decision,
But the answer will never be known to us.
As I think about these people,
I remember all the special people in my life,
My friends and my family,
They are the ones who make the journey of my life truly worthwhile.
Love is Blind
Love, what a strong word,
It means so much when it is heard,
But it can also cause a pain in a fragile heart,
And can rip it apart.
Time will help it heal,
But the memories will always be real.
You can’t look at him in the same way,
And you always have to wash tears away.
Rejection, what a hurtful thing,
It’s amazing how much pain it can bring.
After you’ve felt it so many times before,
And wishing he was so much more.
Love is blind; I know it can be,
Because I’m standing in front of you and you still don’t see me.
The Beat of a Broken Heart
A girl sits alone inside a darkened room,
Staring through her window at the world outside.
There is not a sound,
All is quiet and still.
A world of happiness and joy,
Is now a world of pain.
The sun doesn’t shine,
There is only rain.
The blue skies have turned to grey,
And the flowers are all dead.
The only river flowing is the bitter sting of her own tears,
And there is no sign of life on the empty street.
Dreams for the future have gone away,
And haunting memories are all that remain.
Suddenly, a single sound breaks the silence,
It is the beat of a broken heart.

Faith
Sometimes we sit and wonder why strange things occur
We feel the need to ask questions because we’re not sure
One day everything in our lives is going along just right
The next day we wake and unexplainably we are in a fight
You wonder why this stuff is happening to me
Your eyes are open but you find it hard to see
You want answers to your question but they come very slow
Just ask Him and he will carry you as far as you need to go
It’s hard to pray when there are things in our lives we fear
Trust your faith for your answers, you will soon hear
He is our light, our strength, and his love is second to none
With your faith and his love every battle will be won.
Good Bye
That day you told me that it was over was a horrible day,
And I couldn’t help but stay silent, not knowing what to say.
We were so happy and never apart,
Those were the days I felt a feeling of joy in my now broken heart.
I’ve wanted to tell you how I feel for so long,
But the timing was always wrong.
It’s amazing how one day you’re smiling, and the next you’re crying,
Telling yourself you’ll find someone new, but knowing you’re lying.
A long distance relationship won’t work out for long,
I used to think they did, but I was wrong.
The day came for you to leave and we had to say good-bye,
And as I watched you drive away I tried not to cry.
I love you but I’ll set you free,
And maybe one day, you’ll come back to me.
It Was For Love
This is the story of a guy that loved a girl,
And cherished her like a precious pearl.
She loved him too and never left his side,
Enjoying his company and never having to decide,
Whether his feelings for her was only an act,
She knew he loved her and that was a fact.
But, one summer’s day something happened that changed their lives.
And it hit them unexpectedly like a thousand knives.
They were walking down the street hand in hand and having fun,
Enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun.
They began to cross the street,
Not knowing the fate one of them would soon meet.
It happened so suddenly, and no one knew how much time had passed.
A drunk driver was driving towards them extremely fast.
The guy was the first to notice and pushed his girlfriend out of the way,
And she watched in horror as the car struck him that day.
An ambulance arrived but got there too late,
He had saved her life and then met his terrible fate.
And as he laid there on the street, looking up above,
He looked at her and said, "Don’t cry , I’m dying for love."
Tears in Heaven
This all happened so suddenly,
And I was not prepared.
What you did to me hurt so much,
And I felt my heart rip into two.
We have said goodbye.
Will our goodbye last forever?
I wish I knew.
But this I know for sure,
Our memories will stay forever in my heart,
And maybe someday there will be more.
These memories help to keep me strong,
And help me carry on.
I hope that one day you will love me again,
Because I know that I will always love you.
I will find my way through the day and night,
But I wish that things would go back to the way they used to be.
I know beyond this golden door inside the clouds,
There is a world of peace, tranquility and no more heartache,
And I know,
There will be no more tears once I get to heaven.
The Flames of Love
A candle burns in the dead of night
In the window of a girl who waits alone.
She dreams of the day
That she’ll be set free
From the chains of sorrow and despair.
Her heart is full of faith and love
And she hopes that he’ll come back.
Her hope keeps the flames strong

I'll See Him in my Dreams
I’m lying in bed but I can’t sleep,
The world is silent without a peep,
Darkness has taken over the light,
And everybody is in bed for the night.
I get out of bed and sit by the window gazing onto the street,
Where children play and neighbors meet.
Then, I see his face, so gentle and kind,
If only I could say the words I have in my mind.
He makes me laugh, but cry at the same time,
Because I know he can never be mine.
As I think of him from afar,
I gaze up to the sky and wish upon a shooting star,
That someday I’ll be able to let my feelings show,
Instead of wishing that my heart would let them go.
I see his face again as I climb back into bed, wanting to scream,
But I resist the urge and smile because I’ll see him, in my dreams.
